Community

Trinity has a reputation for great food and
warm hospitality.
We enjoy cooking, eating and serving others.

Working together, whether cooking for parish breakfasts or for special events throughout the year, Trinity people enjoy creating good food for others. With laughter and hard work, we make new friendships while providing a service to the community.

And we love to eat! Opportunities abound for sharing good food while getting to know new people and catching up on one another’s lives. There are Sunday coffee hours, occasional seasonal lunches, themed dinners, a parish picnic, Shrove Tuesday pancake suppers, and potlucks. There are snack bars, baked goods, and cookie walks. You’ll find that good food is part of the many things we do.

We also cook together to serve others – like teenagers at Diocesan youth events, neighbors at Woodfords Neighborhood Association gatherings, new Mainers at Root Cellar dinners and families facing homelessness at Family Promise. Our community especially pulls together when, through illness or for other reasons, a family is in need of meals. Parishioners graciously share their cooking talents to help.

The group that cares for our fantastic kitchen and organizes most of the cooking is the Fellowship Commission. In addition, lots of people help just for a meal or an event. There’s an opportunity for everyone who wants to be involved! has a deepening sense of community among our parishioners and with the wider community. We are involved in many ways with those around us in greater-Portland and our Woodfords neighborhood, in both fun and serious ways.  Through these shared projects and experiences, relationships grow.  We also nurture relationships within our parish through being together for worship, service, and church events.

Volunteers at our Christmas Fair and Spring Yard Sale have a great time together. These events provide low-cost items for the community and earn income for Trinity’s ministries. Whether it’s sorting and pricing items the week before, setting up, helping shoppers or bringing leftovers to Goodwill, there are lots of fun ways to get involved.

Public Labyrinth Walks – Walking the labyrinth provides an opportunity for silent prayer and contemplation. Trinity offers public walks during public school year.  Come prepared to take your shoes off, and to be with God in your own way.  Find Labyrinth walk dates under Upcoming Events on the home page.
