The Rev. Gordon Hutchins

The Rev. Gordon Hutchins is the Assisting Priest at Trinity after a distinguished
career as Rector of St. Paul's in Gardner, Mass. He retired from St. Paul's in 1985.
He was very active in the United Clergy of Greater Gardner, the United Way, and
may other community organizations. He is also a retired colonel and chaplain in
the United States Army.
Fr. Hutchins graduated from Williams College in 1939 and the General Theological
Seminary in New York City in 1943 with a Masters of Divinity Degree.
He entered active duty with the Army in February 1944. He served in the
European Theater during World War II with General Patton's Third
Army. While serving as Staff Chaplain for Fort Devens from July 1968 to
August 1970, he oversaw the construction and refurbishing of two brigade
chapels. Upon retirement from Fort Devens, he received the Legion of Merit.
The Rev. Hutchins lives in Portland and is a widower. His deceased
wife, Peg served as superintendent of the church school at St. Paul's in
Gardner, MA before her husband's retirement.
